Be Ridiculous, Dream the Impossible
Do you dream and have visions of what seems to be impossible? Or have you given up because of the pressures of the world, which is the first to tell you- forget it, it’s impossible? Being a dreamer in this world is ridiculous!
If dreaming the impossible is ridiculous, than people like Martin Luther King, Mohamed Gandhi and Mother Teresa of Calcutta were ridiculous. Or were they?
Just think if Mary, the mother of Christ had not chosen to take the step, and believe that she was meant to be the mother of Christ.
If they could get past just accepting their respective situations (as the world would want them to) and make a profound difference in their lives and, more importantly, in the lives of millions, so can you. Maybe in the Divine plan you are not meant to impact the lives of millions, or find the cure for cancer, or world peace. Maybe you are just meant to impact the lives of your children, your neighbors, or the homeless person sitting on the street corner. You will never know until you break out of the mold and try. And persist in trying.
How can we do this? And are we really making a difference? Baby steps. Ps. 20 gives us the courage. A little known Salesian writer, Helen Gleason, wrote a most beautiful poem on the subject:
You can be what you want to be;
Give Him your dream and you will see.
For miracles are meant for us,
Folk simple enough to trust.
Just hold the thought, in faith believe,
And trust in God and you’ll receive.
Pray on and then wait patiently;
Fulfillment of your dream you’ll see.
Just know the answer is on the way,
When to God you sincerely pray,
And if you’ll let him dwell within,
The answer to your life He’ll bring.
For God has put that hope in you,
Desire to be – desire to do.
Impossible as it may seem,
With God you will fulfill you dream.
It has all the elements – prayer, trust, surrender, believe and receive.
I have a dream. A dream to heal the world, if necessary one person at a time. I am called to do so by God through such scripture passages as Mark 16:15-20, among so many others. I try to make a positive impact on all those whom I meet. At times it seems an impossible task. Yet if I can make a difference in just one person’s life, then who knows, maybe that person will come to become someone that can make a difference in more people’s lives. And before I know it, the steps I found the courage to take have helped the shape the world in a better way.
For this I pray.

Divine Healing….is it possible?
At a time when the world seems broken, many are turning to spirituality to find answers, solace, and peace, and in many cases hope to find healing.
There are multitudes of books on faith healing, divine healing, spiritual healing, and healing under many other names and forms. There are also many books and scientific research on the effects and benefits of spirituality and healing prayer on health and healing. One just has to go to any major book store and browse through the various titles in the self-help and Christian inspiration sections.
I know many are naturally skeptical and wary of those who claim God has blessed them with a gift of prayer that heals. There are just too many TV evangelists out there claiming to heal everything under the sun.
Even I was skeptical at first, yet for various reasons, in early 2000, I was lead to deepen my spirituality through focused retreats and seminars in Portugal and England. During these retreats, and quite unexpectedly on my part, I came to realize that I had been given a very special gift of the Holy Spirit – a gift of healing prayer. I was still not convinced, but the results of my prayer for healing of spiritual, emotional and physical needs of others was proving otherwise.
Even so I decided at the time to be discrete about all of this until I was sure this is what I am called to do full time. It just felt weird. It was completely different than anything I had done or experienced.
It has been ten years now, and I have prayed with hundreds of people for healing and have seen extraordinary results. I have prayed with people that have suffered from various ailments – migraines, depression, rheumatoid arthritis, lack of self esteem, difficulty in conceiving a much wanted child, and so many others. I have prayed and counseled with people suffering the effects of rape, sexual abuse as children and adults, people suffering from addiction, and people who for reasons only they know had no choice but to have an abortion.
Always non-judgmental, I have found that all received some form of healing, and many with extraordinary results.
Because of all this, I have come to realize that this is something you don’t keep quiet about. There are too many hurting people in the world. Unfortunately between those who are skeptical and those who are unbelievable, and those who just don’t want to hear about it, many fall through the cracks.
Don’t let what others might think keep you, someone you love, or someone you just know, from healing.
I know I did for too long. Not any more.
